MINIDOKA, Idaho (KLIX) - A train carrying grain derailed mid-morning Thursday near the small community of Minidoka. According to Union Pacific Railroad Spokesperson Justin Jacobs eight rail cars toppled over and one remained upright. The cars were carrying corn that spilled on the tracks. Jacobs says the mainline was shut down for about an hour but didn't disrupt train traffic. Work is underway to clean up the derailment and repair the tracks. The cause at this time is not known. Jacobs says it was a slow speed derailment and no one was injured.
