Should we be concerned that this is the third 700+ pound alligator caught in Mississippi recently? They sure do grow 'em big in the south.

Earlier this week, hunter Dalco Turner wrangled the biggest alligator Mississippi has ever seen. The monster weighed in at 741.5 pounds and was 13 feet, 6.5 inches. That's a lot of gator.

Before that Beth Trammell set a Mississippi state record by catching a 723.5-pound alligator. That record didn't last long either. Dustin Bockman pulled in a 727-pound alligator just over an hour later. But now we have Turner's monsterous 741.5 pound alligator on the record books. 741.5 pounds!

That's terrifying! What's in the water down there in Mississippi?

According to Wikipedia, the American Alligator usually grows to 11 feet but can weigh up to 1,000 pounds. A normal sized alligator is large enough to take down a full-sized man in the swamps.

What would any of these three monsters do to us?
