Many places have come and gone through the Magic Valley, but the number seems to be higher over the last couple of years. Many new businesses have moved into the area, and moved out within a couple of years, with far too many having closed their doors in less than a year. Every town and city in America has experienced this, and it is a part of business, but the amount of places that have been closing over the last few years is far too many. What has changed and is causing all of these places in the Magic Valley to close? There are many different factors and each place has a reason for closing, but many share the same cause, yet nobody is talking about the real reason places are going out of business.

While some major companies have gone out of business due to bankruptcy, it is the local places that are continuing to have the same problem, and it is an alarming trend. After speaking to some owners of places that have gone out of business in the Magic Valley over the last couple of years, they had one common theme, and that is that they couldn't get enough employees to cover shifts and stay in business. You can't make money if you aren't open, and you can't force people to work who don't want to. Hearing it from one place was eyebrow-raising, but hearing it from multiple businesses makes it an alarming trend and something all new places moving into the area will have to deal with.

Since the shutdown in 2020, many employees have continued to work from home. After getting a taste of being home and not working after being laid off, or from working from the confinement of their bedroom, many have preferred this lifestyle over going back to work. It has created a lazy workforce and has caused a problem for places looking to hire employees. Without enough staff, places are being forced to close, and sadly there is no way to change this, which means this trend is likely to continue moving forward. It isn't the only reason places have closed, but is continuing to pop up, especially with local places in the Magic Valley.

If you need a job, applying could help save some local businesses. Until the residents decide to work, the Magic Valley will continue to lose businesses, and sadly it is the local ones that are suffering the most. Good employees are hard to find, and that statement is proving to be true for too many places in Twin Falls and has sadly led to the end of some promising businesses and eating establishments.
