Every state has their own quirks with food. Idaho is no different. We love our food and we love different combinations that not other states can get behind. We are also fine with that.

    Mayonnaise and Ketchup

To the rest of the world (except Utah) that is Mayochup that the world went bananas over when Heinz started bottling it together. We here in Idaho like to call that "fry sauce".

    Finger Steak and Fry Sauce

Speaking of fry sauce, Idahoans like to dip pretty much everything in it. Finger steaks I haven't been able to find anywhere else. And us Idahoans love dipping finger steaks in the deliciousness of fry sauce.

Fried Cheese Sticks And Fry Sauce

Remember, I just said we pretty much dip everything in fry sauce. If you make it around Idaho during fair season you will undoubtedly mistake a deep fried cheese stick for a corn dog, no, it's cheese and we love it.

    Pasta, Fruit and Marshmallows

I was introduced to frog eye salad when I went to a family gathering at a park in Burley. Who knew all of that could be so delicious together. Idahoans, that's who.

    Potato and Pizza

Get the "Idahoan" style pizza and you will be pleasantly surprised to find delicious hash brown potatoes on your slice of pizza.

    Huckleberries and Everything

I am pretty sure huckleberries is the fruit of the gods. Idahoans like to make pretty much everything with huckleberries: lemonade, ice cream, vodka. Yes, huckleberry vodka. Don't knock it until you try it.

    Nachos and Potatoes

Idaho nachos are one of my favorite fair time dishes. Imagine all the deliciousness of nachos, only instead of chips you get french fries, crinkle cut fries or tater tots. Mmmmm.

    Cheez Wiz and Celery

This is the one I just can't get behind, but it has been a staple for a lot of get togethers I have been to in Idaho. Celery and cheez whiz is apparently a thing people in Idaho love. I may not get it but I don't have to.
