With the heavy snowfall and wind expected to hit the Magic Valley around early afternoon, many schools want to get ahead of the storm, as the snowfall will pile up and the wind will cause drifting snow across the road, affecting driving conditions. It is in the best interest and safety of students to get home before the storm hits, and early dismissal will allow for that to happen.

A severe weather advisory has been issued for Southern Idaho, with a winter storm warning and conditions expected to begin around 5 AM and extend through the remainder of the day.
