It’s Morphin’ Time! 10 ‘Power Rangers’ Facts Fresh From Angel Grove
The Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers have seen their fair share of reboots and adaptations, but did you know Saban went all out to add new sequences to better suit its 1993 American premiere? Or that Walter White himself, Bryan Cranston held an early role? Break out your morphers, it’s the 16th episode of ‘You Think You Know TV?,’ which go-goes to Angel Grove for the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers!
Originally produced in Japan as Super Sentai, Saban utilized stock footage of the helmeted heroes battling monsters, adding an American cast to film scenes in “Angel Grove,” which also explains why the originally male Yellow Ranger has no skirt on the costume. Of course, if you wanted to catch up with the series yourself, there’s always the 98 DVD disc collection put on the market in 2014, containing over 800 episodes over 20+ seasons. Good luck!
Not enough? Lord Zedd was apparently Jewish, and Angel Grove was settled by the British in 1775, despite being set in California. No, it does not get less weird from there.
