Ski season is about to get started in the Magic Valley. Pomerelle Ski Resort has announced that they will be opening up the slopes this Friday November 29th.

Operations will begin this Friday because Pomerelle has been hit with a good amount of snow and it doesn't appear to be going anywhere any time soon. Pomerelle will be open for Black Friday at 9 a.m. and will close at 4 p.m.

After this weekend Pomerelle will be open on weekends until December 21st. After that they plan on being up and running 7 days a week, perfect timing for Christmas Break. Apparently the mountain also got some new lights for night skiing this season. That is going to start on December 26th.

As of earlier this morning (Tuesday November 26th) Pomerelle said they had gotten over 7 inches of snow and counting. If the snow isn't letting up and we have a winter weather advisory for the next few days it looks like quite a bit of the white stuff is going to fall for some fresh great ski conditions.

It is going to get cold so make sure you wear layers. I know, it's weird saying that since people are literally going up there to play in snow and ice but with the temps dropping it is going to get chilly.

Something to keep in mind, Pomerelle does close down if conditions get too poor and the wind blows too hard. Get those skis and snow boards out because ski season officially starts on Friday!
