A fundraising effort is underway to help a Southern Idaho single mother of four who was severely injured in an automobile accident in which another motorist hit her vehicle head-on.

The crash happened on October 16, and it will be a long recovery for the woman, who has not been able to return to work to support her children. The victim remained in the intensive care unit of a Boise hospital for nearly a week after the accident.

The victim, Elizabeth Diavila, sustained major injuries including multiple fractured vertebrae and a very badly injured lower leg, according to Diavila's GoFundMe page. She is still in the hospital and unable to provide for her kids.

Diavila will need months of rehabilitation, which isn't presently covered by her current health insurance plan, according to GoFundMe. With four young girls at home, the family would greatly appreciate any financial assistance they can get while she recovers.
