What New Dating Trend is Happening in Idaho?

There is a new dating trend that has been happening across Idaho, especially with younger generations, and it seems to be highly effective.

Going on a date can be as much, if not more stressful than finding a person to date. Where do you go? What do you do? The younger generation has decided to start doing a new trend, which is called dry dating. Many often like to go out for drinks to help relax on a date or to have a good time, but millennials and Gen Zers have decided to start dating without any alcohol. In a recent survey from datingnews.com, 54 percent of millennials and Gen Zers said they prefer no alcohol on their dates, with 81 percent saying they have gone on a dry date in 2024 already. Not only does this allow them to remember and enjoy their dates, but it also saves money, with an average of $88 per month being saved. As surprising as it is, 65 percent surveyed said they prefer dry dating.

What is the reason for dry dating? Out of those surveyed, 87 percent said that a dry date was a healthier choice when it came to dating, with 63 percent stating that the lack of alcohol helped them form better connections and stronger relationships. While the younger generations prefer no alcohol, not everyone feels that way, with 16 percent saying they need alcohol to make it through a first date.
