Magic Mountain Ski Resort Finally Announces Opening Day

After weeks of waiting for sufficient snowfall, Magic Mountain Ski Resort has announced its official opening day: this Saturday!

The unseasonably warm winter has delayed the opening, as the snowfalls earlier in the season didn’t stick due to high temperatures. While the resort staff was eager to open, safety concerns regarding insufficient snow depth kept the slopes closed.

Thanks to recent holiday snowstorms—and more snow in the forecast—Magic Mountain is finally ready to welcome skiers and tubers back to the slopes.

Hours of Operation

Magic Mountain will follow these hours for the 2024-2025 season:

  • Sunday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Monday & Tuesday: Closed
  • Wednesday: By Appointment Only
  • Thursday – Saturday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Reserve Tubing in Advance

If tubing is part of your plans, take note: the tubes for the tubing hill sell out fast. To avoid disappointment, it’s strongly recommended to reserve your tubes online ahead of time. If you show up without a reservation, there's a good chance all the tubes will be taken... especially on opening weekend.

Prepare for Winter Weather

Before heading to Magic Mountain, check weather and road conditions. A winter weather advisory is in effect this weekend, so while it may be raining in the valley, expect snowy and icy roads leading up to the resort. Drive cautiously and ensure your vehicle is equipped for winter travel.

With fresh snow and winter fun ahead, Magic Mountain is finally ready to kick off the season. Don’t miss your chance to hit the slopes or enjoy tubing with family and friends!
