The Band Perry lead singer Kimberly Perry has filed for divorce from her former MLB player husband, J.P. Arencibia.

The pair were married for four years. The papers were filed Friday (March 2), in Greeneville, Tenn., with Perry citing irreconcilable differences.

According to People, a representative for Perry confirmed the news and asked for privacy for the couple at this time. Perry posted a short note to Instagram Sunday (March 4) herself, telling fans that indeed, her marriage is at an end:

Perry, 34, married Arencibia, 32, who has played as catcher for the Toronto Blue Jays, Texas Rangers, and Tampa Bay Rays, on June 12, 2014. The wedding took place at Greeneville's Christ Chapel First Presbyterian Church. Included in the wedding party were Perry's brothers and bandmates, Neil and Reid, who stood up as her best men, and Arencibia's nieces stood up as his groomswomen.

Arencibia and Perry met at the Florida Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Fla., in early 2012. The Florida-raised ballplayer was a fan of hers from her band's music videos, and he used connections to get backstage.

Arencibia announced his retirement from major-league baseball in 2017. The couple have not been very demonstrative about their relationship on social media, although Arencibia did wish Perry a loving happy birthday on Instagram last July, calling her "my everything" and noting "I love you more than I'd ever be able to explain."
