Awesome Events That Make Southern Idaho Life A No Brainer
It's crazy to hear people tell me that southern Idaho is a boring place to live. The first thought I usually get in my head after hearing this is, "Do you go outside?'
Although it's taken me until mid-July to finally get out of town and book a weekend up north in the mountains, I have had the opportunity to be present for some annual events over the past three months that always draw big crowds.
I'm a massive fan of being out on the water. A couple weeks ago, I dropped by the Annual Idaho Regatta, which was June 26 to 29 in Burley. It had been several years since I went, and I couldn't believe how big the event has gotten.
Annual Southern Idaho Events Make Living Here Easy

We spent that Saturday at the marina and watched the races for six hours or so. It's a great event because people bring games like cornhole and kids have a lot of room to run around on the grass. The race breaks frequently and gives the public an opportunity to jump in the water and cool off.

The Regatta also has food vendors and allows coolers on-site, just don't bring glass. It's become one of my favorite area events and I'm already looking forward to the 2026 races.
Other annual events that are must-dos and give southern Idaho residents a reason to get outside and enjoy their neighbors include:
Thousand Springs Festival of the Arts - Wendell, late September
Twin Falls Ice Cream Funday - mid-July
Magic Valley Beer Festival - Twin Falls, early August
Twin Falls Western Days - late May
Lost in Lava Cowboy Gathering - Shoshone, late September
Buhl Sagebrush Days - Buhl, July 4
Gooding Pro Rodeo - Gooding, mid August
Twin Falls County Fair - Filer, late August
