Rock music in the late 1980s ushered in a new breed of bands that encouraged makeup on men, big hair, out of control partying, and female audience interactions of the topless variety. Steel Panther is perhaps the most wild and indecent musical group of them all to break through during this time period, and will be bringing the party to southwest Idaho in a few weeks.

If you grew up in the eighties in the Western United States, you have probably heard of Steel Panther. They, along with bands such as Metallica, Motley Crue, Tesla, Tool, Guns N Roses, and Megadeath all exploded onto the rock scene around the same time in California. Steel Panther, more than any of those other bands, continued to carry the torch for rock and roll debauchery right up to the present day.

Many of the titles of Steel Panther songs are too inappropriate to mention, and yet they've amassed a loyal following that still dresses in leather, tight, cleavage-accenting tops, and supermaximum blown-out hairstyles whenever they hit town.

Founding members Micheal Starr (lead vocals) and Russ Parish (guitar) are still rocking with the band to this day, and will make a stop on the current tour with the rest of the guys at the Knitting Factory in Boise on March 11.

Tickets to see Steel Panther in Boise range from $40 to $150, according to bigstub.com.
