Spanking Needs to Be Allowed in Idaho Schools Once Again

Being a teacher is harder today than ever before. Dealing with parents is tough, the pay isn't great, and you have to deal with too many kids each day. Teachers and principals have less authority than ever before, and it makes their jobs that much more difficult. When students act up how to handle them is tough, with social media, parents, and children being able to talk back more than ever before. What is the best way for teachers and principals to handle bad students at school? Now is the best time to bring back spanking in Idaho schools, and it needs to happen soon.

Spanking in Idaho Schools

Depending on how old your parents or grandparents are, odds are they grew up with spanking in school. You have likely heard horror stories of how their teacher or principal turned their butt red, and how they got disciplined. That time of discipline would never be allowed today, but should it be? Kids today feel more entitled than ever before and can be a handful to handle for authority figures. If teachers or principals had the authority to spank would it help keep kids more in line and limit the issues that schools deal with weekly and daily? Permission slips could be signed permitting them, or perhaps schools should be allowed to spank once kids reach a certain age. There are far too many issues, that something needs to change, and spanking might be the answer. 

Discipling Kids in Idaho Schools

While spanking is likely to never happen again, what alternative is there for school authorities to handle students who step out of line? It is nearly impossible to suspend students or have them expelled. Every school is afraid of a lawsuit from parents, which makes it tough to discipline them and allows the inmates to run the asylum. The spanking would not work on older students, but for elementary school and even middle school, it would be effective. How to handle high school students is where things get tough, but hopefully, the spanking through younger schooling would help some of them act better by the time they reach high school.

Spanking will never return to schools, but if something isn't done soon, teachers will lose all their authority and schools will be running wild before we know it. This isn't a Twin Falls problem or an Idaho problem, this is a generational and cultural problem. There is a reason our parents and grandparents rarely stepped out of line and it was because they were disciplined. Things needed to change, but have things gone from too strict to too loose? How would you feel if your child was spanked at school? If you saw a positive change, would it change your mind? Schools have it rough these days, and do the best they can, and as parents, we need to help them find the best solution and stop taking away their authority.
