Dog parks are generally places pet owners can take their animals and be surrounded by like-minded, caring animal lovers. Animals, like kids, also should be closely supervised to make sure interactions are pleasant.

Not all dog owners are responsible. I've gone to a dog park once as a pet owner, and I haven't returned to one since.

I remember being frustrated within 15 minutes of being there. It's almost as if some people visit these parks simply to get their animals out of their hair for a while. If you want to see truly oblivious humans, visit your local dog park. This topic comes up quite frequently in online dog park chat threads.

I recently scrolled upon a chat thread on the Magic Valley Rants Raves / Meta page dated November 19 that had to do with a local dog park. A woman (and 'rising contributor') was venting over being frustrated about fellow visitors not picking up after their dogs or paying attention to how they were interacting with other animals.

Another point the woman was making was that certain owners were allowing their big dogs to enter into areas of the park designed for smaller, lighter animals. There is signage at some dog parks that direct pet owners on where to allow their bigger dogs to have access to. These instructions were being ignored, according to the woman.

I'm a big dog fan, but smaller dogs should also be respected and allowed to roam about in designated areas where the risk of being roughed up is minimal.

Have you noticed these problems at Twin Falls dog parks?
