Loveland was picked 10th in the draft by the Chicago Bears. He spent three seasons as a tight end for the Michigan Wolverines before being drafted in April.

Before the Bears / Dolphins game on Sunday (August 10), Loveland's story and rise from a small town in Idaho to the NFL was featured in a pregame segment. Footage of the family farm, as well as highlights from his high school and college days, were included in the broadcast.
The game ended in a 24-24 tie, with Loveland catching one pass for eight yards.
