Southern Idaho has now had 10 reported incidents of UAP since the beginning of the year that have been investigated by the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC) headquartered in Washington State. Twin Falls, Boise, Meridian, and Buhl have all had reports filed by area residents since January 1, 2024. Buhl is located 16 miles west of Twin Falls.

Southern Idaho has historically seen a large number of UAP reports since the NUFORC began tracking data more than 50 years ago. The region is also home to Mountain Home Air Force Base, which is located 44 miles southeast of Boise. Some believe the military installation and the high number of unidentified crafts in the sky reported annually are connected somehow.

Unidentified aerial phenomena are reported to take on many different shapes, sizes, and colors. Orb sightings are very common, and are often described as smaller, round metallic-looking crafts.

NUFORC incident 181538 is a report that was filed on May 15 by two witnesses who were driving in Buhl and saw a multi-colored object traveling approximately 200 miles per hour. The orb had five rainbow-colored, flashing lights and was seen for a few seconds before disappearing into a canyon, according to the report.

The incident report further detailed cows behaving strangely and signs of unexplained markings on at least one witness's skin.
