Idaho Olympic Athlete Gets Engaged In Italy

A Gem State Olympic skier has made headlines already a couple of times since competition began in Italy for the 2026 winter games on February 6. The southern Idaho native was proposed to Thursday (February 12) during a downhill skiing event as several teammates stood by and cheered.

Victor, Idaho, native Breezy Johnson is now engaged to be married! Although the 30-year-old athlete was born just over the Idaho border in Jackson, Wyoming, she was raised in Victor, just 25 miles to the northwest from the small Wyoming community.

Johnson first made headlines less than 48 hours after the games began when she captured Team USA's first gold medal of these 25th winter Olympics in the women's downhill competition.

Idaho Native And Olympic Skier Breezy Johnson Got Engaged Thursday In Italy

To date, now one week into the games, Team USA has 14 total medals with four of them being gold. Host Italy has 18 total medals with six of them gold.

Johnson was a collegiate skier while attending Western Washington University in Bellingham where she earned a degree in English. Her longtime boyfriend, Conner Watkins, presented her with a ring and kneeled down into the snow surrounded by the beautiful Dolomite Mountain Range of north central Italy.

Congratulations to Breezy for not only capturing her country--America, the greatest on Earth--our first of these Olympic games last Sunday, but on the engagement as well.
