Storm Headed for Southern Idaho Will Bring Snow, Wind, and Rain
With plenty of snow still on the ground from a storm over Thanksgiving and an additional layer of a few inches last night, Idaho weather will continue to be wintry this weekend.
New Weekend Weather Alert for Southern Idaho Includes Snow, Wind, and Rain
The weather forecast for Twin Falls has changed a few times this week as a Winter Storm Watch was placed into effect a few days ago and then removed a few hours later. We still received a good layer of snow and more is expected, but the real weather danger will be the wind in Southern Idaho this weekend.
The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for Twin Falls that will be in effect from 2 PM Saturday until 5 AM Sunday. With the Wind Advisory, wind gusts up to 50 miles per hour could cause damage to homes, knock out power, blow unsecured yard items away, and break tree limbs.
The wind will be the worst in southcentral and southwest Idaho. Prepare now by securing items in your yard, including trampolines and furniture. Caution should be taken when driving, especially in high-profile vehicles.
