Plans Revealed For Massive Vista Bonita Park Expansion in Twin Falls
Vista Bonita Park in Twin Falls is one of the most popular parks on the south side of town, and it’s getting bigger and better. Plans were shared this week showing what features the park will have.
The map also shows where the additions will be, and since it’s only a few blocks from my house, I’m extremely excited for the changes.
Park Addition in Twin Falls Includes Dog Park, Sports Fields, Walking Path, and More
Vista Bonita Park isn’t ever completely full, unless there’s a big party happening, so the upgrades are more of a welcome change than a necessity. That’s my opinion. The park already has a nice walking path, open fields and trees, a baseball diamond, the best sledding hill in the area, a good-sized pavilion, and a swing set playground.
But the planned additions are going to make Vista Bonita much more popular and possibly the best park in Twin Falls. Just the addition of a dog park will increase the appeal of the park, but people are also going to love the new fields and the larger walking path.

What Additions Are Being Made to Vista Bonita Park in Twin Falls, Idaho?
We found out in December of 2024 that Vista Bonita was going to be expanded, but it wasn’t until this week that we learned what the additions would include, and the work has already begun. The area has already seen recent changes with the construction of the new Fire Station #3 and AutoZone in front of the Swensen’s store.
According to the pictures, here’s what we’ll get with the Vista Bonita Park expansion:
- 51 additional parking spaces
- A shelter by the two entrance arbors
- Access to the park from Washington Street
- A dog park with a shelter, fence, path, gravel area, shade trees, and lawn
- A restroom
- Area for Cornhole with a shelter
- A walking path that connects to the existing path
- Sports fields
- Two additional berms and a planned expansion of the current berm/sledding hill
- Two swales near Washington Street to catch excess water
The expansion adds just over 6 acres of land to the park, and I think the only thing missing would be a few pickleball courts. I guess we’ll keep going to CSI for that.
