Is the I84 Highway Construction Almost Done Near Twin Falls, ID?
Construction on the highway between Twin Falls and Jerome in Southern Idaho has been ongoing since the middle of 2023. Between the lane restrictions, traffic pattern changes, and reduced speed limits, it has been a headache for commuters.
It also feels like they have been doing a lot of construction, but also not really doing anything, since we haven’t seen any of the benefits of the work. But that all changes this week.
Huge Change Finally Coming to I84 Near Twin Falls, ID This Week
The Interstate 84 construction is happening between mile markers 173 to 168, from Twin Falls to Jerome. The Idaho Transportation Department is widening the highway between the two cities to increase safety and allow for the higher capacity of traffic expected as the Magic Valley grows.
Construction is expected to last into November of this year, but this month, we’ll see a huge change in the traffic flow as crews open the recently completed third lane this week. There will be a few ramp closures on Monday and Tuesday to allow crews to stripe paint the highway and remove traffic control devices in place for the construction.
