Make sure you have the volume up on your phone when watching this video.

A fawn was stranded on a frozen lake in Idaho and had to be rescued but she complained the entire time. The audio is hilarious. Also, watch at the end where it looks like the deer runs BACK onto the ice.

The Oscar Goes To: Dramatic Deer Being Rescued From a Frozen Idaho Lake

The video was shared on social media by the Valley County Sheriff’s Office where they show the rescue of the fawn. We only see the end of the rescue, so you don’t get to see how far onto the frozen lake they had to venture to save her. But the fact that they had to rescue the little deer means she was out there pretty far, and the McCall Fire and EMS had to take a risk to get her.

That’s part of what makes the video so good because, at the very end, it looks like she runs right back to the ice when she’s released. The other thing that makes the video hilarious is the sound the deer makes the entire time she’s being rescued.

Check out the video of the adorable deer rescue from the frozen Payette Lake on the Valley County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page. Check the comments for the second half of the video when they re-rescue the deer and take her further from the lake so she doesn’t run back to it.

Sadly, their video isn’t embeddable from Facebook, so we can’t show it here. But the good news is that a different video from further away posted by the McCall Fire & EMS shows the rescue…and you can still hear the deer complaining.

The McCall Fire & EMS video is a good addition because with it you can see how far out the deer was and you get to see that she didn’t make it very far back onto the lake when they let her go the first time.

That lake ice doesn’t look very thick, so good job to the responders for the rescue and staying safe themselves.
