Well well well, it looks like we have another bonehead "TrEnD" making its rounds on social media and while it's not overly dangerous, it can land your kid in some serious hot water.

"Common Sense? What's That?" - Social Media Probably

It might seem crazy to think about for many young people, but a lot of adults in their 30s didn't grow up with social media. Can you imagine if TikTok or Facebook existed in the 90s? There's no telling how many of us would be in trouble and would have been deterred from the paths we took.

Fast-forward to today in 2024 where people are seemingly in a rush to find the next big viral trend.

Gone are the days of "planking" on a park bench being enough to get you "likes", now kids are committing theft in the latest "challenge."

Have a Nike backpack? Watch your back...

We noticed a few posts popping up in various local Facebook groups from parents inquiring about a "Nike Backpack Zipper Pull" TikTok trend.

It doesn't take a detective to figure out what the challenge is but there's just one problem - to complete the "challenge" is to commit theft.

Some parents in these groups are even reporting that their kids are getting in trouble at school for attempting the challenge. In the TikTok below, you can see how the challenge is affecting Nike Elite backpack owners.

@liljerryg How many zippers do yall have? #nikeelitebackpack #zippers #nike #funny #trend #greenscreen ♬ original sound - Jerry Gonzalez

If we're being honest, this has to be one of the dumbest challenges we've heard of. The zipper pulls are essentially glorified shoelaces with plastic on a backpack. Imagine being a kid and getting in trouble for stealing one of these zipper pulls.

It's just not worth it.
