It's officially vacation season for people in the Treasure Valley and across America. For many, that means loading up the tank for that summer road trip, while for others, that could mean hopping on a plane to their favorite destination.

Essential Items To Bring On A Trip

Whether you're flying or driving, you're going to want to pack all of the essentials to avoid any surprise inconveniences. This happens all the time, especially if you're traveling with children, right?

It's easy to overlook the essentials when you have your four-year-old constantly asking you when they can have a snack right after they just finished eating. The next thing you know, you forget to pack enough socks for the trip, or forget to pack a backup battery for your phone.

Speaking of backup batteries, there's one specific brand you'll want to stop using immediately due to a recent recall.

The affected batteries have the model number A1263 with the brand name Anker engraved on the front. You'll be able to find the model number and "SN" for serial number at the bottom of it.

Your first instinct might be to say, "Welp, we don't need this anymore," before tossing it into the trash, but don't do that! The US Consumer Product Safety Commission says to not throw the battery into the trash or recycling bins.

The report says that Anker has received "19 reports of fires and explosions," with two reports of minor burn injuries and property damage totaling over $60,700.
