This Boise Denim Shop Is One Of The Top 50 Clothing Stores In The U.S.

Blue jeans are as American as apple pie. Who doesn't have fond memories of their first pair of denim jeans. Ok, well, maybe mine were called Tough Skins with reinforced knees in size "Husky" but, they were jeans.

I would eventually graduate to what were called "Bell Bottoms" in the early 80's, specifically a brand called "San Francisco Riding Gear" which was like wearing a pair of full denim chaps.

Junkyard Jeans is a Boise institution that has been around as long as I can remember. The buy jeans, they sell jeans, the live jeans.

Owner, Eric Schrader, says the stores motto is "Big Mess, Big Success."

What started out as a money making opportunity in college has grown into one of the Top 50 Clothing Stores in the U.S.

And there was even a documentary on Netflix all about Junkyard Jeans called "Blue Gold - American Jeans that is still available on many streaming platforms.

According to their website, Junkyard Jeans is "a highly acclaimed, curated vintage clothing retailer specializing in authentic, American-made vintage denim, custom chain-stitching, and one-of-a-kind collectible pieces."

Junkyard Jeans has sewn custom pieces for major celebrities and music stars over the years, including Blink 182 and others. Most recently, country duo Brothers Osborne were in town and Eric said they "rode their bikes in the rain to come to the store and buy some pieces."

Nowadays, most of my jeans are found in the "relaxed fit" section, and the inseam is almost equal to the waist size, but, nothing fits or feels as good as your favorite pair of jeans.
