iOS 7 is Available and Free to All iPhone, iPad, and iPod Owners

Apple's latest and greatest operating system, iOS 7, is available now for free! Completely redesigned from the ground up, it features a new look, interface, and over 200 new features.

Simply go into your Settings app, tap General, and then Software Update. Your iDevice will automatically find the new update. It took me about ten tries before the download started and finished, but it's worth it.

Aside from Apple's new iPhone 5S and 5C, iOS 7 is compatible with the iPhone 5, the iPhone 4S, the iPhone 4, the iPad (fourth and third generation), the iPad 2, the iPad mini and the fifth-generation iPod touch. From Apple:

Nothing we’ve ever created has been designed just to look beautiful. That’s approaching the opportunity from the wrong end. Instead, as we reconsidered iOS, our purpose was to create an experience that was simpler, more useful, and more enjoyable — while building on the things people love about iOS. Ultimately, redesigning the way it works led us to redesign the way it looks. Because good design is design that’s in service of the experience.

It took me a minute to get used to the new colors and graphical user interface, but the more I look at it, the more I dig it. The new Control Center--swipe up from any screen to access--gives you access to much needed system settings anywhere. The Notification Center has been redesigned, and Siri sounds and works a million times better.
