Say goodbye to Instagram's "Following" tab, which mostly let users catch their friends and family, and most importantly significant others, "Liking" pics in the middle of the night.

BuzzFeed reports that the social media platform is getting rid of the tab this week, meaning you'll no longer have a feed that shows your friends' "Likes," comments and follows. Instead, the heart tab will now display only your own activity on the platform.

According to Instagram's head of product, Vishal Shah, "Following" wasn't a frequently used feature--in fact, the company suspects many users didn't know it even existed. Plus, “people didn’t always know that their activity is surfacing,” Shah adds. “So you have a case where it’s not serving the use case you built it for, but it’s also causing people to be surprised when their activity is showing up."

This is true- Keke had no idea what the 'following' tab was when I just became outraged to learn that it was leaving. I actually went to show it to him, and mine has already disappeared.

This is going to simultaneously improve and ruin my life. How can I tell if Bae went on IG before texting me? How can I see what pictures he was liking at 2am? How will I be able to run #KatFished as well as before?! I'm not sure, but maybe this will be a huge sigh of relief as I have one less way to stalk and fill my mind with needless information.

Do you really care if someone went onto insta and liked pix before sending you that 'Good morning' text? I mean, maybe, but if you don't know, you don't know. Sometimes ignorance is bliss, they say.
