For many, going to school was enjoyable as a kid. There was recess, making new friends, and learning new things. As we got older, the excuses to attempt to get out of going grew and grew, and school became less enjoyable for some. There are things to like and not like about school, but times have changed and our kids do not have school the same way that many of us once did. They learn new things, there is a new technology we never had, and there are many new rules that weren't in place during our days. Public schools aren't what they used to be. They aren't as safe as they once were, the education has changed, and there appears to be more mental bullying than ever. It raises the question, are kids in Idaho better off being homeschooled, than going to public or private schools in 2024?

While there are pros to having children attend public schools, there is more and more of an argument to pull children from schools and keep them home. There is more bullying than ever before in schools, and by keeping your kids home for school, they avoid the pressure of bullying and dealing with peers. There is also the benefit of being able to teach your kid at your pace and anywhere at any time. If you are a family that travels or is sick a lot, you can keep up your child's education without them having to be in a classroom. They do miss out on the social aspect, but there are benefits to keeping them home that public schools can't offer.

Schools are not the same as they used to be. With school shootings, cyberbullying, and the lack of staffing at schools, children are likely better off being taught at home. They get full attention, and one-on-one time, can learn at their own pace, are safe at home, and can avoid being bullied by not being around other children. Sadly, this is where we are at, but it seems like the safer route to go these days. Your child can continue their education on weekends, through holidays, and when traveling. More and more parents are going this route, and they aren't wrong to do so.

While not every family will be able to homeschool their children, and some will be against it since it does hurt children socially, it might be the way to go. With the way things are changing, it is the only way to keep your kids as safe as possible and may help their education overall. It is up to the parent to decide, but now might be the time to pull your children from school.
