Idaho Regatta In Burley Returns June 25th Through 28th
The Idaho Regatta is back for their 45th annual event! The boat races are only part of the festivities. The entire 4 days are full of fun for the entire family.
On Thursday, June 25th, they kick off with a Show & Shine on the Square in Rupert. There will be pizza and beer specials, other food options and entertainment. If you want to go check out the boats before they speed down the water this is your chance. Racers will be there to pre-register and allow the community to see the boats not at top speeds. That lasts from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
On Friday, June 26th they have the boat parade from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. You can be part of a meet and greet, check out and meet your favorite racers at 9:30 a.m. and then the parade starts at 10 a.m. at Kodiak America parking lot. Then the racing starts after the drivers meeting at 4 p.m. The grudge matches and vintage jet class race happens.
On Saturday and Sunday June 27th and 28th the qualifying heats start at 10:05 a.m. and run until 6 p.m. These are the heavy race days. They end with and award ceremony and banquet on Sunday after the racing is over.
You can buy tickets at the event, this is an event you are not going to want to miss. It is seriously a great time for everyone in the family. A full weekend adult pass is $30 and kids 12 and under are free with an adult purchase. Single day passes are $15 for adults, again kids 12 and under free with adult ticket purchase.
For veterans and seniors there will be special pricing as well with a valid ID. Pit passes are also available for all ages at $5 per person.
Unfortunately the on site RV spaces are full but there are plenty of lodging options around the area you can take advantage of if you want to stay all weekend long. Off site RV spaces however are still available.
They have pretty much though of everything as well and if you aren't sure how to get to the race site, they have a map for pretty much every direction you could possibly come from.
This event I have heard stories about since I moved here. People recall their favorite childhood memories and how exciting it is to watch these boats race across the water. At times it doesn't even look like the boats are touching the water, only hovering over it. I can't wait to check it out.
