Idaho city recognized as one of Most Livable in the US
Always good to be recognized for positive things we have in Idaho!
According to 24/7 Wall St., Meridian's unemployment and low violent crime rate gets this Idaho city a big nod to 25th place.
Sure, Utah has 3 on the list - Layton in at 49th, Orem at 47th, and South Jordan in at 46th. It's all part of the Salt Lake City metroplex. Do you really want to be one of THOSE drivers? I'll even give a nod to Bend, Oregon with a respectable 43rd. I just don't know if I'm up for 2 feet of snow every year and craft beer everywhere. And hey, no city from the state where I grew up (New Mexico) even made the cut.
Meridian still comes in higher. But with its proximity to Boise, is it part of the Boise metroplex? It may be giving Boise a quiet bedroom community thumbs up. Good on ya anyway, Meridian. Keep up the good work.
Honestly, do we want to be recognized here in the Magic Valley, or keep quietly off this list and keep this gem to ourselves? Am I being a bit Gollum with my precious Magic Valley? Meridian can keep the kudos, I'll keep my piece of the map to myself, and maybe mention it only to the friends I'd like to see come here.
