If you want opportunity, Salt Lake City is where it’s at

While Boise, Idaho didn’t do terribly, ranked 28 out of some 182 cities, it appears that Salt Lake City, Utah is the place to be. Salt Lake earned the #3 spot on the survey, only losing to Scottsdale, Arizona, and Miami, Florida, who earned the #1 and #2 spots, respectively.

Why Salt Lake City Utah is the place to find the best jobs

According to the study, Salt Lake City, Utah ranks third best because of its low unemployment rate. Compared to the rest of the country, Salt Lake's unemployment rate is only 3%. FWIW: Idaho’s unemployment rate is respectable at 3.3%, we just don’t rank high in growth potential. Speaking of growth, Salt Lake City is listed as #1 in growth potential with the highest number of employers predicting that they will add employees as opposed to downsizing.

Salt Lake City job hunting fun fact

An employer in Salt Lake City, Utah isn’t allowed to ask you or your former employer about your previous salary, giving you potentially better bargaining power when you negotiate salary.
