7 Ways to Spend Spring Break in the Magic Valley
It may not feel like it outside, but spring is beginning next week, and it just so happens so is spring break. While some people will be getting out of town and heading to warm locations or hitting the slopes somewhere, there is plenty to do in the area, without having to travel. If you are wanting to take a few days off work and have some fun with your kids for spring break here are some fun ideas to do in the Magic Valley this year.
Moon Arcade in Filer
Many people may not know that there is an arcade in Filer. It is called Moon Arcade and it offers an old-school arcade feel that makes for a fun time for all ages. Introduce our children to the classics while also showing them how to play them as well. You have fun reliving your childhood, and your kids have fun playing games. For more details on the arcade, as well as business hours, make sure to click the link above.
Arcadia in Burley
Perhaps you want to enjoy a nice drive but also play some games. Head to Burley and check out Arcadia. This arcade is a mixture of the classics with the modern era and offers a variety of games. It may be a little far, but it'll take up more time of the day, allowing you to get out of the house and still have some fun. Spring break is a week-long, so you could check out Arcadia one day and Moon Arcade another and compare. Click on the link for more details on Arcadia.
Snowboard or Ski
It may be getting later in the year, but there is still plenty of time to hit the slopes, especially during spring break. If you are someone that likes to go frequently, or occasionally, or maybe you want to learn, the week is perfect for all of the above. There are multiple resorts in the area to visit, and if you are looking to learn how to snowboard or ski, you can click this link right here. Grab your board or skis, or rent some, and hit the slopes for spring break for a couple of days with the family.
Jump Time
Depending on how the weather decides to be next week, you may be stuck inside for spring break more then you want to be, and the kids can drive you nuts. Instead of locking them in their rooms, why not take them to Jump Time and let them get all their energy out for awhile and perhaps it'll give you some peace and quiet as well. It is good for them to use their energy, plus you may have some fun too if you decide to join.
Magic Valley Cinema 13
When was the last time you went to the movies? If it has been awhile, spring break is the perfect time to go. You can catch the matinee and save some money, and typically not that many people are at the theater on a weekday at Magic Valley Cinema 13. 'Shazam!' comes out this weekend, or there is a plethora of other movies to view as well. Click the link and go to the day you prefer to see showtimes and what is playing.
Visit the Herrett Center
There are always tons of things taking place at the Herrett Center on the campus of CSI, and it is a great way to get the kids out of the house, while also being educational and fun. There is the planetarium, art, history, and so much more. There is a little something for everyone. Click on the link for more details and to see what will be happening the week of spring break.
A Day Trip to Boise or Idaho Falls
If worse comes to worse, you can always make a day trip to Idaho Falls to check out the Museum of Idaho. They currently have the Dinos of the Deep exhibit. If you rather go to a bigger area, Boise is always an option as well, where there are tons of fun things to do and more shopping. Staying closer to home and saving gas is better, but with the kids having the extra time, you may want to take advantage of it.
There are always more options to get out and have fun but these are just some ideas to consider. Some will want to take road trips, others will want to fly to warmer destinations, and some will want to sleep, play video games, and watch movies. There is no wrong way to spend spring break. Take advantage of your kids being out of school and take a day or two off work and have fun. Spring break 2023 is almost here.
