Fatal Crash near Wendell Claims One

On Sunday, June 11, 2017, at approximately 4:37 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a crash on I84, near milepost 158, near Wendell.

(Idaho State Police) Karol Grenier, 66, of Emmett, was traveling westbound in a 2002 Mazda Tribute. Grenier went off the left shoulder, overcorrected, went off the right shoulder, and traveled through a fence where the vehicle rolled. Grenier was ejected and was being transported by air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, ID when she succumbed to her injuries.

Multiple juveniles were wearing their seatbelts and were not transported. Lanes of travel were blocked for approximately one hour.

The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police. Gooding County Sheriff's Office assisted.
