While there is a wide variety, nothing can beat a good old-fashioned hamburger and fries. When it comes to French fries, certain locations come to mind, especially in California. Focusing specifically on fast food, there are usually places that people think of instantly when they want good fries, but according to experts, those popular places do not have the best fries in the state.

The Best French Fries in California

When most people living in California or visiting the Golden State think of fast food fries, the first two places that come to mind are commonly McDonald's and In-N-Out. McDonald's is known for their fries and how they are often good enough that they don't even need sauce. In-N-Out is known for the freshness of their fries and that they are made with real potatoes. Despite all of this, according to experts, neither is home to the best fast-food French fries in California. A recent study asked four chefs who has the best fries in the Golden State, and the answer was unanimous. According to the study on allrecipes.com, Arby's is home to the best fries. 

Determining the Best Fries in California

Four different chefs were asked to pick their favorite fast-food fries, and all four agreed that Arby's has the best. They focused on three main categories, which were crispiness, seasoning, and temperature. The fact that Arby's serves curly fries played to their advantage. They aren't found at every fast food chain, and one expert said that they make the fries more fun. They also add more seasoning than other places and their fries have more flavor. When it comes to which sauce to use when eating Arby's fries, according to the experts, the best sauce is horsey sauce, followed by ketchup, and ranch coming in at third.
