The Gem State Has The Worst Drivers in America

Driving is something that many must do every day. They need to do it to get to work, to run errands, to get kids to school, and sometimes to go on vacation or to see family and friends. It is tough to make it through life without having to drive or get in a car. Driving for some can be relaxing and enjoyable, while others hate it and it brings out the worst in them. When it comes to driving in Idaho, some of the worst drivers live in the Gem State and many things factor into this. 

Idaho Has the Worst Drivers

Having lived in many states and traveled through many states as well, I can safely say that the worst drivers I have ever come across are those who call Idaho home. Every state has bad drivers, but in Idaho, it appears there are more than in most places. In California, there are bad drivers, but typically traffic moves so slowly that it is less noticeable. In Texas, many drivers are flying down the roads well over the speed limit, but when everyone is doing it, it evens out. In Idaho, it isn't one thing but many that result in the state being home to the worst drivers in the country. 

Why Idaho Drivers Suck

When it comes to driving in Idaho, there is much wrong with the people behind the wheel. It starts with drivers not knowing how to drive with headlights on. They are either off or on high beams, and it makes driving down the road dangerous. When it comes to speed, it seems that drivers are flying down the road and racing or being reckless, or the other extreme where they are driving too slow and well under the speed limit. Drivers who are already driving under the speed limit get offended and brake-check drivers going the speed limit, making the road dangerous, and the speedsters tailgate and try to fly around cars, often going into oncoming traffic. Far too often drivers are texting, having drivers go from the side of the road to the middle, and speeds altering between too slow to normal or speeding, all within a minute.

Yes, these all occur in other states as well, but it is rare to get on the road and not see these types of actions in Idaho every day. Read through stories from the last week, the last month, and the last year and see how many fatal crashes there have been. And this is because of the terrible driving in Idaho. The Gem State is home to the worst drivers in the country, and it doesn't appear to be getting better anytime soon.
