Bogus Basin Ski Resort has announced the opening of a small section of its mountain after a jump start on snow making yielded adequate conditions.

The resort today alerted ski and boarding enthusiasts on its official website that the terrain park is open November 8-10, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Once fully operational, the resort, which opened in 1942, will offer 11 lifts, over 90 runs and three terrain parks.

A promising end to summer in southern Idaho that brought cool temperatures and some snowfall in late September and early October, has recently turned to an above average start to November temperature-wise. This has meant less help from Mother Nature in recent weeks.

The forecast for the resort's summit this weekend isn't currently calling for any snow accumulations. Highs should be in the low to middle forties through Sunday, November 10. For questions or daily condition reports, contact Bogus Basin, at 208-342-2100.

For those pondering a weekend on the mountain, the park's Pioneer Condos are available to rent all year long. For prices, deals and discounts, click here.

Bogus Basin is located 150 miles northwest of Twin Falls, with an approximate driving time of two-hours, forty-minutes.

The Explore Surface Lift is currently open, near Dear Point Express, according to the resort's Facebook page.
