The app Tik Tok I swear is great at ruining people's lives. A viral video shows that if you wash your strawberries in salt water, bugs will come out of the holes where the seeds are. We did a little research to see if it was true or just more social media magic.

There is no doubt that food is much better and safer now that it was back in the day when the book "The Jungle" was released and everyone found out rats were in their hotdogs. Today, thankfully our biggest concerns are some bugs that may or may not be in fruit.

So it appears that it is true that some worm like bugs that are actually likely larva from a fruit fly. And chances are you have eaten thousands of them in your lifetime and never knew it. Mostly because they are harmless and the FDA has regulations that allows a certain amount of bugs in food.

Honestly, let's think about this logically. Bugs are outside in the dirt and air. Fruits and vegetables are literally plucked out of the dirt or on plants exposed to bugs. It only makes sense that bugs are in fruits and vegetables. Sure, a giant larvae or worm is pretty unpleasant to see but they are just living their lives too. Vet your fruits and vegetables when you can and thoroughly so you don't consume them, but this is no reason to panic.

And yes, apparently these bugs live in all sorts of fruits like raspberries, blueberries and blackberries. Call me crazy but I am still going to eat them.
