What Is the Best Way To Get Rid of a Fever? [POLL]

My poor little boys are sick and while I understand that all kids get sick it is still terrible to watch them be sick. I am positive that they have a 24 to 36 hour bug. The main system is a very high fever. Nine times out of ten Aspirin or Ibuprofen will lower a fever but yesterday afternoon I was having very little luck with any medicine. As a mother I feel like I should know what will take a fever down, but to be completely honest I don't have a clue what works best.
