USGS Announces the Ground at Yellowstone is Rising, But We’re Probably All Not Gonna Die

If you've been paying attention, you know there has been a ton of earthquake activity in Yellowstone National Park this year. The USGS thinks they know why. The ground at Yellowstone is rising, but we're all probably not gonna die because of it.

What exactly are they trying to say in non-scientific terms? First of all, there are some folks very concerned that there have been over 1,600 earthquakes in Yellowstone since June. Even though this is a highly-seismic region, that's a lot even by those standards.

The weird part of how the Yellowstone super-volcano behaves is that some of the ground is rising and some is falling. The USGS is claiming that this is a normal part of life in that region. So, we're all probably not gonna die, yet.
