We found some proof that Tarzan's roots can be traced to Idaho.  Well, maybe not Tarzan himself; him being made up and all... But we did find out that Tarzan author, Edgar Rice Burroughs spent some time in Idaho at his brother's ranch in Raft River, Idaho in 1891.

According to wikipedia, he spent about half a year in Raft River, working at the ranch during the chicago influenza epidemic of 1891. It wasn't until many years later that Tarzan of the Apes would be published in October of 1912.
