The supervisor for the Sawtooth National Forest has signed a new order that will allow limited access for people using snow vehicles on a mountain range southeast of Malta.
After nearly a month of burning in the South Hills the Badger Fire is now 100 percent contained. According to fire officials, the fire had minimal activity during the weekend and cooler wet weather moved in to the area.
As the Badger Fire is nearing 100 percent containment repair crews continue to work in burned out areas in the South Hills and plan for rehabilitation in the future.
Fire restrictions for Camas, Blaine and parts of Custer counties will be dropped starting in October on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands and Sawtooth National Forest.
