Cold Front Heading Through Southern Idaho, Temps To Dip Into 70s

For those in southern Idaho who have had enough of the heat over the past few months, the weather Gods are sending a mild cold front through the region soon that will reduce daytime highs to the seventies for an extended period of time.

It's been a hot summer in the Magic Valley. Recent thunderstorm activity has failed to produce much rain but has delivered some much-needed cloud cover. Since Monday, these thunderstorm cells have consistently rolled through Twin Falls County at about the time area schools release kids for the day. This pattern will continue through Friday, and will drop highs below 80 through the weekend.

Expect another round of clouds and potential thunderstorm activity to pass through the Magic Valley at about the same time Thursday (August 27), according to The Weather Channel. Friday is looking to be much cooler, with highs dropping to the mid-seventies. The weather this weekend will be ideal for those looking to complete outdoor chores.

Cooler Temperatures Expected For The Weekend In The Magic Valley

Not much precipitation is expected out of this front, except possibly Saturday morning, when there's a 40 percent chance of precipitation. Sunday is forecasted to be the coolest day of the week with a high of 73 for Twin Falls, according to Weather Underground.

By the way, there are roughly three weeks left until fall arrives. We may have seen the end of triple-digit temperatures for another 10 months or so.
