The days have been warm recently, and many in Idaho are looking for a way to cool off. Some enjoy going to the lake, others to a pool, and still others want to have fun at the water park. Despite school starting, water parks have remained open, specifically on weekends. Most anticipate having a fun time and creating memories when they take their family to a water park, but sadly for one family, those memories will not be good. A man was recently found dead at a waterpark in Idaho, but it wasn't what you would think.

Man Dies at Roaring Springs in Idaho

man was found dead on Saturday, August 23, at Roaring Spring Water Park in Meridian, Idaho, as he was found unresponsive in Action River, a fast-flowing 3 feet deep attraction similar to the lazy river, but with faster flowing water and kickboards to use for park goers. The man was in his 40s, and the incident occurred around 2:48 PM on Saturday. The man was not seen drowning but was floating on his back when a lifeguard and the group with the man noticed his distress. He was taken out of the attraction, where EMTs attempted to revive the man before pronouncing him gone. Most would assume drowning would be the cause of a death at a water park, but it is expected that it was a medical condition that took the man's life. This is not the first time that Roaring Springs has been in the news this summer. There was an incident where a man was forced to leave the park earlier this summer and arrested for inappropriately touching underage girls in the wave pool. In both instances, Roaring Springs handled the situations accordingly and promptly. While these types of situations may scare some park goers away, they shouldn't. These are not the norm, and the park is still a great place to visit, and they are still open. The park is still open and will remain open until September 14. They are open only on weekends for the first two weekends of that month.
