On Tuesday, the NCAA followed the state of California's lead by voting unanimously to allow to allow college athletes to profit from their name, image and likeness "in a manner consistent with the collegiate model."

What that last phrase means is anyone's guess at this point, but the AP reports that the three separate divisions of college sports have been directed to "immediately begin figuring out how to update their rules in a way that maintains a distinction between college and professional sports."

Congress is currently considering a bill that would change the federal tax code to allow an unrestricted marketplace for individual athletes to seek endorsement deals, which would be consistent with the law California adopted in September that essentially forced the NCAA's hand.

Boise State players able to cash in on their names and images being used? I think that's super fair, and a long time coming.
