Moscow Caretaker Gets Probation for Exploitation

MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — A 23-year-old Moscow woman who admitted to exploiting a man in her care who died in her home will spend the next six years on probation.

The Lewiston Tribune reports that Lindsey Winter was released from custody Tuesday. She was sentenced to two to eight years in prison in June, but was placed in a rider program that gave her the opportunity to avoid serving a longer sentence if she did well. In November 2013, 67-year-old Lee Pohrman was found dead in Winter's residence.

His cause of death was ruled as starvation. Winter pleaded guilty in April to an exploitation charge as part of a plea deal. Her finance, Charles Wright, also entered a plea agreement and has been sentenced to three to seven years in prison.
