Is Mason Ramsey on a Date in New ‘How Could I Not’ Video?
Rising country music star Mason Ramsey has released the video for his latest single "How Could I Not." The video, directed by Justin Clough, was filmed at the Wilson County Fair in Lebanon, Tenn. and features a bit of a surprise—the almost-teenager (he turns 13 next month) appears to be taking a girl on a date.
Ramsey notably tried to woo a crush in the storyline for his video "Twang," which came out in June, but in this clip he actually is taking a young lady out. Don't expect anything steamy, however. The recently released visual is completely middle school-appropriate, and Ramsey himself downplays the whole thing, posting on his Instagram account "About a month ago I called up a friend and headed to the state fair," while describing making the video.
Ramsey and his (apparently) real-life friend are shown having fun on the various rides including a merry-go-round, bumper cars and a ferris wheel. The pair also plays various games such as shooting baskets where Ramsey wins a prize for his companion. There are also several scenes where Ramsey is filmed singing in front of the ferris wheel and Tilt-A-Whirl.
"How Could I Not" is the most recent song to be released from Ramsey's Twang EP, his first batch of new music since his debut EP Famous in 2018. The twangy tune is composed of steel guitar, electric guitar and steady drums. Across "How Could I Not," Ramsey sings about wanting to spend every moment with the person that he cares about "Can't afford to miss one minute with you / Oh baby, how could I not / Anywhere with you would be hard to top."
Ramsey will flex his singing chops this Sunday (Oct. 20) as he is set to perform the national anthem during the Tennessee Titans and Los Angeles Chargers game, held at Nashville's Nissan Stadium. No word if he invited a friend to this, as well.
The rising star is currently on the road to support the release of his Twang EP on his How's Your Girl & How's Your Family Part 2. It follows Ramsey's first sold-out tour, How's Your Girl & How's Your Family Tour. Tickets are available on Ramsey's official website.
