Maren Morris has been sharing a new song, "Flavor," during some of her recent live shows. Readers can press play above to see video from Morris' stop in Milwaukee, Wis., where she performed the tune for cheering fans.

"Flavor" is a statement of independence of sorts for Morris, who is the Country Music Association’s reigning New Artist of the Year. In the chorus, she sings, "If you don’t like the heat, then get out of the kitchen / I’m cookin’ with my own flavor, even if it ain’t your style.”

“You’ve only seen one layer / Original can take a while / Makin’ a mess, straight out of scratch / Think what you think about that," the chorus of "Flavor" continues. "Oh, I’m just trying to make a little bit greater / I’m cookin’ up my own flavor.”

It’s been a busy October for Morris: She recently inked a modeling contract with Wilhelmina Models’ celebrity division, and before that, she and Vince Gill released a song called “Dear Hate” in the aftermath of the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting. Morris' duet with former One Direction member Niall Horan, "Seeing Blind," was also released this month.

There is no word yet on when Morris will release the follow-up record to her much-acclaimed solo debut album, 2016's Hero. In the meantime, fans can look forward to Morris’ collaboration with Horan at the 2017 CMA Awards on Nov. 8.
