A recently opened restaurant in Gooding, Idaho, has announced its permanent closure after just a few months of operation. Main Street 1908, which opened in July 2024, shared the news with customers on social media, expressing gratitude and apologies to patrons.

A Promising Start

Main Street 1908 debuted to mostly positive reviews, offering a menu that included steaks, burgers, sandwiches, and salads. The restaurant cultivated a family-friendly and welcoming atmosphere, appealing to a diverse clientele ranging from local farmers and ranchers to the business community. Its combination of high-quality offerings and accessibility aimed to provide a classy yet approachable dining experience.

Breathing New Life into a Historic Location

The restaurant operated in a historic Gooding location that previously housed Pickles Bar & Grill and, before that, Rowdy’s Bar and Grill. The transition to Main Street 1908 brought new energy to the space, with many in the community celebrating its opening as a much-needed culinary addition to the area.

The Farewell Announcement

On December 29, 2024, owners Cam and Mandi posted this message on social media:

“Well friends, today we say goodbye. Thank you to the staff and our customers that were with us and enjoyed our food over the last couple of months. We will be closing today 12-29 and not reopening. Sincerest apologies, Cam and Mandi.
