Kelly Clarkson Announces Her New Trio, Already Famous [VIDEO]

Miranda Lambert isn’t the only star singer who can start a side project.

Kelly Clarkson has announced the formation of Already Famous, an all-female trio rounded out by two of her background singers, Jill Pickering and Kate Rapier. In fact, according to their Twitter account, they’re in the studio.

And what can fans expect to hear from Already Famous? It won’t be the Kelly Clarkson show. As they put it in one tweet: “We switch on different songs. We all sing lead, alto, and soprano at different points.” And this is no overnight sensation, either — the trio has apparently been writing together on the sly for more than four years.

As for when the first Already Famous recordings will surface, there’s no word yet — but with Clarkson scheduled to release her next album in the fall, we’ll probably have to wait a little while.
