SURVEY: Many In Idaho Went With Alternative To Bad Bunny Sunday

Super Bowl 60 is now in the books. The most talked about element of the telecast had to have been the halftime show, and it turns out a good number of people in the Magic Valley had plans to watch a pre-taped performance that took place more than 2,400 miles east of the site that hosted the big game.

By the way, congratulations to Seahawks fans.

Sunday's Super Bowl left a lot to be desired for our group of eight who gathered to watch. In the days leading up to the game between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots, I asked people throughout Twin Falls--including several strangers--what their plans were for halftime.

Bad Bunny was the artist chosen by NFL executives to perform the intermission of the game that was held at Levi Stadium in Central California, the home of the San Francisco Forty Niners. Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin were also featured in the halftime show.

Football fans also had the opportunity to tune into an impromptu concert organized by Turning Point USA a few days prior to the game as an alternative to watching the Puerto Rican superstar.

Turning Point USA's Alternative Halftime Show Featuring Kid Rock Was Viewed By Millions Of People On Sunday

Turning Point USA's 'All-American Halftime Show' featured artists Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett, and it's estimated more than six million people tuned into YouTube for it, according to numbers provided by the Cincinnati Enquirer. The viewership numbers for the Bad Bunny performance haven't been calculated as of yet.

Although I worked with a small sample size in the Twin Falls area, 70 percent (14 out of 20) responded that they were planning to tune into the Turning Point USA halftime show instead of Bad Bunny. The majority of friends of mine I chatted with also expressed more of an interest in the alternative to Bad Bunny.
